BREAKFAST AT BLUE SKIES INN

Hot and Healthy Breakfast Included

At Blue Skies Inn, a full hot breakfast is served to you in a picnic basket as room service. Breakfast includes a hot egg dish and freshly baked muffins delivered still warm from our oven. Fruit, juice, coffee, butter and milk complete your meal. Breakfast served to your suite in a big picnic basket is standard service, but many of our summer guests choose to dine on our porches or in our garden areas.

We regret that our breakfasts are not suitable for those with a wheat allergy since our egg dish and famous muffins are made with wheat flour. We regret that we are not able to prepare breakfast for individual needs outside of our regular menu. If our breakfast does not suit you, you may find a more highly customizable breakfast at a nearby restaurant in downtown Manitou Springs. You may deduct $10 per night if you choose to not to have our breakfast - advance notice is required at time of booking.

If you plan to ride the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, you may wish to book ahead of time in order to have your choice of departure times. Our earliest breakfast service is 8:00 AM, so you may want to consider that when scheduling your trip on the railway.

Blue Skies Inn's Breakfast Philosophy
1. Breakfast should be healthy for you.
We don't use trans fats in our cooking, and we're careful about sugar. Everything we serve you will be baked from scratch using real ingredients just like Sally's grandmother would have done. We do not serve anything that has been prepackaged or baked in a factory. For example, see the sample recipes on this page.

2. Breakfast should be hot.
Our breakfast arrives right from our oven with a special potholder that proudly announces that it is "HOT!"

3. Breakfast should be individually prepared for our guests.
We cook your breakfast specifically for you and it will always be served so that you can take it anywhere. Our guests have been known to take the entire picnic basket to the Garden of the Gods for a breakfast among the red rocks.

4. Breakfast should be served anywhere.
If you are shy or just want to dine alone with your sweetie, we deliver breakfast to your door at no extra charge. If you wish to mingle with other guests, we will serve you on one of our covered porches or in The Secret Garden.

5. Breakfast ingredients should be fresh.
Our muffins are baked with fresh blueberries and your fruit bowl will always hold fresh fruit, regardless of the season. You will never find a poached, canned pear at Blue Skies Inn.

6. Breakfast should be recognizable.
We promise not to serve you a breakfast dish that has a mysterious name or requires explanation, leaving you wondering what exactly it is

7. Breakfast should be plentiful.
Many of our guests claim that they can skip lunch after enjoying our generously sized breakfast. We are happy to serve you as many muffins as you can possibly eat! (Guest record is six.)

8. Take-home bags should always be available for your extra muffins.
Take 'em home, by all means. Take 'em anywhere that suites you.

In fact, some of our muffins have hit the road like Hope and Crosby. The old record for farthest-traveled muffins was Hong Kong, compliments of Wayne & Sigi. Their record stood for four years.
